We all have a problem with money. The problem isn’t that we don’t have enough of it, although the vast majority of us would make that claim. The problem is that we don’t have money…money has us. What I mean is that money has captured our hearts such that we think a bank account brings real life, a windfall is salvation and finding an extra $20 in our jeans pocket truly makes our day. The struggle comes when the money runs out, when the bills are tight and the bank account is overdrawn. When the money is gone so is our life. We don’t have to live this way. In fact, God wants us to be free from slavery to money. God wants our hearts to be his and not running after the seemingly almighty dollar. How can we do it? What does God teach us about money and how we handle it properly? In today’s message we examine these questions and find that freedom is not only possible but money can be a source of great joy as we handle it God’s way.
