We want every visitor to Mission Church to feel at home and we understand that different churches have different styles and ways of doing things…so here’s a rundown of how we like to “do church” at Mission Church in Forney.
What do I wear?
We are far more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear to church. At Mission Church you’ll find most people dressed casually, although no one will look at you funny if you decide to dress up for the occasion. Pastor Eric preaches wearing jeans just about every Sunday.
Where do I park? Which door should I enter?
The main parking lot is on the north side of the school along FM-740. Enter into the main entrance of the school by the banner hanging between two poles:
If it is full in front, park on the east side lot which is along Pinson Road. There will be signs directing you to enter via the south entrance.

What should you expect when you walk in?
When you enter the school you should expect some friendly faces to greet you. We’ll have coffee, donuts/muffins, and water that you can grab and take in to the worship service with you. If you have children in grade 5 or below, you’ll be able to check them in for their Mission Kids classes right across from the donut table. The restrooms are on your right.
Grab a Bible, an invite card and other important information at the table on the right side of the main hallway. If you don’t have a Bible it is yours to take. The black box is for communication cards.
What should I expect during service?
Our goal is for you to connect with God during your time with us. We think that happens best when you are comfortable. For this reason, we will never single you out, ask visitors to stand, or ask anyone to hold hands with a neighbor.
We begin our service with worship. We sing worship songs that are doctrinally sound, but that are also current and relevant to our culture today.
Pastor Eric will deliver a relatable message from Scripture with relevant application to everyday life. He has a casual style and a tendency to use humor and stories from the military, sports, or family life that many, men especially, appreciate.
We end every service by taking communion (grape juice and wafers as symbols of the body and blood of Christ) as a response to Scriptural truth. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ you are welcomed to take communion with us. If you are just checking things out there is no pressure to participate. If you do not know Jesus as Savior we ask that you refrain from taking communion as per the instruction of 1 Corinthians 11.
Your worship guide will have a Communication Card attached. Please fill it out at any time during the worship service so that we can get to know you better and thank you for joining us. At the end of the service you can place that card in the box on the information table and exchange it for a free book!
Finally, after the worship time is over, stick around and meet some new people. Have another cup of coffee or help us finish any leftover snacks. Chat with Pastor Eric, if you like, or lend a hand as we “tear down” afterwards. We hope to meet you soon.
