On a beautiful April day in 2005 I proposed marriage to my girlfriend. We were in Washington D.C., the cherry blossoms were in full bloom and I asked THE question; Will you marry me? At that moment she had a choice. She could either say yes or no, and that answer would have profound implications on her future and mine. When Jesus reveals himself to an individual he asks a different but even more important question; Will you follow me? In that moment our choice matters. It matters for eternity. In today’s passage, the author of Hebrews wants us to choose. He wants us, on the basis of what he has written in chapter 1, to choose the better Jesus. He wants us to respond because our choice matters and he lays out three reasons to make his case. Listen in as we examine the reasons he gives as to why our choice to follow or not to follow Jesus matters so much.
