Our God in the Fiery Furnace
I don’t want to brag, but I was an awesome boyfriend.
And I still don’t want to brag, but I was also an awesome fiancé.
I would take Heather on dates around Washington D.C. to the most romantic spots and the most beautiful places.
I would buy her flowers… For no reason at all.
I was charming and endearing and wonderful.
And then we got married.
Once a charming man, now I was a man who was sitting on the couch watching T.V. asking the question, “What do you wanna do tonight?”
My wife was extremely dissatisfied with this, and she posed the question: “What happened to the charming man I dated?”
I tell you that story so that you know one thing… You have a dissatisfied God.
Now, if you know Jesus, you are fully loved, fully cared for, and Heaven is secure for you, but our Savior is dissatisfied with us.
We are on a trajectory to become who God is making us into, but in the meantime, God is dissatisfied with where we are.
This is good news, because we are largely satisfied with where we are. However, God will not let us go on without being changed.
